PDC Summer Activities

The Pupil Development Centre was extremely busy during the summer holidays and facilitated many workshops for both primary and secondary students who had previously attended a PDC programme.

Replay Theatre ran a primary and secondary drama workshop for students at the PDC.  The actors and students spontaneously re-enacted various moments and stories from their lives.   Replay uses drama and music as a creative tool to represent some aspects of student’s lives.

Film making at the PDC - Students participated in making their own film.  They engaged in work on story board technique, filming, directing, acting and editing and produced an exciting short film.

Local artist, Marcia Buckley facilitated two art workshops at the PDC.  These workshops engaged students in developing creative thinking and helped to strengthen student’s concepts and confidences through art.

Excellence Cluster facilitated a day at the PDC using control technology and working with digital photography.  Students enjoyed the opportunity to work together and develop new skills under the guidance of the ICT department.

Dance - A very energetic Dance workshop was run by Ian Fuller – Hastings & St. Leonard’s Excellence Cluster Dance worker.  This took place at Robsack Community Centre.

Other activities included students enjoying a fun filled day with PDC learning mentors at Cambersands beach, Cookery Clubs held at the Pupil Development Centre and trips to Wylands Fisheries in Battle.
