Principles
Hastings & St Leonards' Learning & Teaching staff will provide a pro-active service to support schools in the improvement of the learning, and the raising of attainment, of young people. A number of approaches will be utilised according to the needs of the schools and individuals:
  • Working with target groups of children
  • In class support working in partnership with school staff
  • Collaborative planning of project work withs chools
  • Coaching of staff
  • Staff training
  • Transition work
  • Personalised learning plans
  • Use of 'leading edge' technology to raise achievement
Where appropriate the Learning & Teaching Adviser will offer advice to schools/headteachers on curriculum design & timetabling, assessment & target setting, NQT support and behaviour management Advice will also be available to core curriculum co-ordinators on planning units of work, marking & assessment and target setting.

The Learning & Teaching team will seek to embed the models of support in cluster schools in order to sustain the work
